THE PRINCIPLE OF PERMANENT HAIR REMOVAL.
The hair follicle and associated melanin with chromophore absorbs light.
The laser sends light rays through the epidermis and is absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicle, which is located about 2 to 4 millimeters under the skin.
Melanin is the pigment in the hair follicle that gives hair color. When this absorbs the light, it creates heat.
This heat damages the hair follicle (a mini-organ made up of several parts) from the very first hair removal session.
After 6 to 8 consecutive hair removal sessions, most hair follicles in the skin have completely disappeared.
